Multi-year registrations now possible for .uk domain names

Effective 1st May 2012, .uk domain names can now be registered or renewed for between 1 and 10 years.

Hitherto, .uk domains have been restricted to a 2-year registration or renewal period, at any given time. The new policy by the .uk registry would offer .uk domain registrants much more flexibility.

.uk is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for the United Kingdom but registration of .co.uk, .org.uk, .me.uk domains is open to the world. According to Wikipedia:

As of March 2012, it is the fourth most popular top-level domain worldwide (after .com, .de and .net), with over 10 million registrations.

Web4Africa, an accredited .uk domain registrar, now offers .co.uk, .org.uk and .me.uk domains for between 1 and 10 years.
